Mezcal: Mexico in a Bottle

Washington, D.C. — May 1st, 2017

Mezcal: Mexico in a Bottle landed in Washington, D.C. for the first time on May 1st, 2017. We had a incredible tasting at the Mexican Cultural Institute‘s beautiful building which featured numerous agave spirits (full list below), local bars, and local restaurants. Tess Rose Lampert led an amazing presentation on how mezcal pairs with food and is used in the kitchen. Plus we had some great little tienditas selling amazing jewelry and surprises from Mexico. Let’s not forget all the other events around the main tasting!

Check out our photo gallery from the tasting to rediscover everything and then get ready for next year because we’ll definitely be back. We’re already working on dates for Spring 2018. Until then if you can’t get enough of mezcal and Mezcalistas make sure to subscribe to our newsletter and Facebook feed so that you hear the latest and greatest from the world of mezcal.

What is it?

Mezcal: Mexico in a Bottle is the biggest mezcal tasting in the United States. Curated by the Mezcalistas, Susan Coss and Max Garrone, it is our annual tasting and celebration of mezcal culture. We combine music, art, food, and that divine elixir – MEZCAL – in an experience like no other. Your ticket gets you tastes from more than 15 brands, bites, cocktail sips from local bars and restaurants, handcrafted artisan goods (for purchase) in our tiendita, great music, and fun. Plus, luminaries from across the mezcal world will offer fantastic insights into what you’re tasting as part of our informal chats program.
